Juxtaposition 2

And so this week, Juxtaposition 2. Like last week, we learn the definition of it. This week, we learn that Juxtaposition is an action divided into two, analogy and oxymoron. Blur Blur Blur!!

What is Analogy?
According to wikipedia, analogy is cognitive process of transferring information from a particular subject (the analogue or source) to another particular subject (the target), and a linguistic expression corresponding to such a process. In a narrower sense, analogy is an inference or an argument from one particular to another particular, as opposed to deduction, induction, and abduction, where at least one of the premises or the conclusion is general. The word analogy can also refer to the relation between the source and the target themselves, which is often, though not necessarily, a similarity, as in the biological notion of analogy.

There're two categories of analogies, logical analogies and affective analogies. Also, analogy can be divided to two types:
- metaphor
- simile

What is oxymoron?

In lecture notes, oxymoron is an expression with contradictory words.
Based on wikipedia.com, oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines normally contradictory items.

Juxtaposition 1

Juxtaposition is basically being close. Simply stated, juxtaposition means placing things side-by-side. In art this usually is done with the intention of bringing out a specific quality or creating an effect, particularly when two contrasting or opposing elements are used. The viewer's attention is drawn to the similarities or differences between the elements.

Exercises for Juxtaposition

These exercise are fun.. Drawing was very fun. At the end, I did the concept of love, chili as metaphor.

Logical Mind Map

A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central keyword or idea. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas. It is a very popular technique with applications across many fields, a useful technique that improves the way we take notes, and increases our creative problem solving. It usually used by individuals and corporate teams for different aims or purposes. Mind maps should be simple and easy to remember. Most of us use it in our daily lives.

In my own opinion, we should apply mind-map method to generate ideas and brainstorming in anything we do. An interesting mind map with colours, images and drawing is a very good techniques. In this way, we are attached to the mind map and are able to understand it better.

Stereotypes are usually used in logical mind map. The logical mind map comprises of solely stereotype words which means that every single image or word that is put within the mind map is directly related to the central subject which makes us judge easily.

Defining Novelty, Innovation and Invention

Innovation is the process in which we transfer our creative Ideas into practice. this is done based on the subject in which the creativity is applied to. For instance. In business, Innovation could be regarded as utilizing a creative idea into the production, or advertising the the product. It may refer to incremental and emergent or radical and revolutionary changes in thinking, products, processes, or organizations.

Invention is the act of inventing, or to create a new thing, think of and produce for the first time. An invention is a new composition, device, or a highly creative process. It may be obtained from a pre-existing model, idea or concept. Inventive thinking has always played a greatest importance role in the creative process, so that the inventors should think outside of the box to create and invent a new thing. Creative minds are capable of inventing new things, yet based on an already-existing idea. What makes them practical and acceptable to the society, is the newness within the way their ideas are represented.

Defining Creativity

Creativity is something special, something out of the box. Creativity is when something creative is being processed. As told by lecturers, being creative is never easy. But it is not impossible to be. It just takes a whole lot of hard work. Creativity basically also means new things and new ideas. But according to all the brilliant mind, there are no new ideas, but a combination of old ideas. There are all kinds of creative thinking methods that encourages the original thoughts and divergent thinking.

Introduction to Creative Studies

Very Very Sorry To Have Cause Some TROUBLE to my lecturers. Well, this would be my very simple blog. I am not use to blog posting yet. I am force to do this because it provides a certain amount of marks to my assignment. So, on my very first post, I have to post on an introduction to creative studies. I don't know much about this subject basically cause we're just in the 2nd week. As expected this will be very much like history classes.

My guessing that the aim for this class would be... teaching us to think creatively? We as students are expected to be creative at all times. I don't really expect much from this class because even if I attend all the classes, I believe I'd be sleeping in there most of the time. I hope that it will change as time passes by, lecturer's are doing their best making the classes more and more interesting.

To end my first post, this will be a funny, weird, nonsense, full of crap type of blog. I am looking forward to my next blogging. Thanks to all these type of assignment, I actually have a blog of my own. THANK YOU.
